> Options for connecting Confluent Kafka to ClickHouse

# Integrating Confluent with ClickHouse

Confluent provides three options to integrate with ClickHouse:

* [ClickHouse Connect Sink on Confluent Cloud](/integrations/connectors/data-ingestion/kafka/confluent/confluent-cloud), the fully managed connector
* [ClickHouse Connect Sink as a Custom Connector on Confluent Cloud](/integrations/connectors/data-ingestion/kafka/confluent/custom-connector), where you upload the connector yourself
* [HTTP Sink Connector for Confluent Platform](/integrations/connectors/data-ingestion/kafka/confluent/kafka-connect-http) that integrates Apache Kafka with an API via HTTP or HTTPS

Both of the first two options run the same ClickHouse Connect Sink on Confluent Cloud. The difference is who manages the connector:

* **Fully managed connector**: Confluent installs and upgrades the connector for you. Start here unless you need something it doesn't offer.
* **Custom Connector**: you download a release of the connector from [GitHub](https://github.com/ClickHouse/clickhouse-kafka-connect/releases) and upload it to Confluent Cloud yourself. Use this when you need a specific connector version, or want to override settings that the fully managed connector only changes through a Confluent support case. Custom Connectors are only available in some AWS regions.
